The Langdon House is a professional recording studio located in Boise, ID, featuring modern digital recording tools. Music is my passion and I focus on making a big sound in a comfortable setting. My goal is to provide a professional work environment for up-and-coming and/or established artists looking for an affordable way to make an album.

RECORDING TIME: $50 per hour
All recording done through The Langdon House (in-studio or on-site) is $50 per hour. This is a very reasonable and very fair price for any recording studio.
*Pro-tip: Know and practice your song before you even step foot into any studio. It will save you LOTS of time and money when recording. Fixing things or making changes to your song are WAY easier if you already know it. :)

***I AM CURRENTLY NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE IN-STUDIO RECORDING SERVICES AS I DO NOT HAVE THE PROPER SPACE. HOWEVER, I AM STILL ABLE TO RECORD ON-SITE IF PREFERRED.***

MIXING: $70 per song
This is where the magic happens. With everything done digitally, the possibilities are endless. You can sound like you're in a giant theater, a small club, or a studio in England. You can make your song sound the way you intended with effects, panning, overdubbing, or with floor-shaking bass. Only have 3 singers? You can sound like a choir!
Think of the mixing step as the main chiseling of a marble block into a statue. This is when your track really takes shape and becomes something special.

MASTERING: $50 per song
This is the final step in the studio recording process. This is where your track is refined and tuned for release into the wild. I master to the streaming industry standard (roughly -14 LUFS depending on the service). Anything louder than that and the streaming gods will turn you down anyway to match everything else they play.
I mainly use Pro Tools with all digital plug-ins for this phase. Some studios will tout the use of analog equipment in their setup. Do not mistake this for quality. It can also be more expensive. They claim it adds that "analog color" to the sound. Anymore, their digital plug-in counterparts sounds so close to the original analog devices, the vast majority of listeners can't tell the difference anyway. What matters is how it sounds to your ear and whether you like it or not.

This step is intended to be a slight change or refinement to the original mix. Any change that is dramatically needed should be addressed in the mixing phase and not here. Think of the mastering step as the final polish to your marble statue.
RE-MASTERING & DIGITAL COPYING: $20 + $1 per song

Have an old soundtrack that sounds like you played it under water? Is your soundtrack on a cassette tape? Does it sound way louder or way softer than all your other tracks? Re-mastering these old tracks can make a world of difference. *Word of caution: some of your old tracks may be just too far gone to be saved.
Do you have some old vinyl records or albums on cassette you want digitized? I can copy your old music into any digital format you wish, get rid of clicks, pops, noise or hiss and give it back to you in just about any medium. *RE-MASTERING IS NOT A PART OF THIS PROCESS* Odds are you want them to sound just like what you already have. Re-mastering would be redundant. BUT, if you want it done, the rate goes up => $30 + $2 per song.
